How It Started

A Childhood Spent Beside Mama Jane

Maame Esi grew up in Ghana, learning to cook at the side of her mother, Mama Jane. The kitchen was never just a place to prepare food; it was where culture was passed down, stories were told, and family gathered. Those early years shaped everything that by Maamee would eventually become.

From Imperial College London to the Kitchen Lab

After earning her degree in Environmental Management from Imperial College London, Maame Esi found herself drawn back to the one place she always felt most at home: the kitchen. She took everything she had learned about systems, care, and precision and brought it into her cooking. Her kitchen became a lab where every dish is crafted with intention.
